Improving the booking experience in tourism
Guests are excited when planning a trip; friction extinguishes that quickly. The critical points in a booking flow.
01Show price and availability early
A visitor wants to know two things first: is it available and what does it cost? Showing that without making them fill in a form reduces the chance they keep searching. Hiding the price behind get in touch sends today's guest to the next tab.
02Spell out what is included
What the rate covers — breakfast, transfer, taxes — must be clear from the start. Extra items appearing at the payment step are the most common reason nearly-complete bookings are abandoned. Transparency here converts directly into revenue.
03Let the images tell the truth
Heavily edited photographs win bookings in the short term and generate poor reviews in the long term. What the guest sees on the site should match what they find on arrival. Managing expectations is the cheapest tool for guest satisfaction.
04Be multilingual and mobile-first
In tourism a large share of visitors come from abroad and on a phone. The site working completely in your target markets' languages, and the booking flow finishing cleanly on a small screen, feed straight into occupancy.
