Are you using your Google business listing properly?

For many businesses this is seen before the website. A half-filled listing reads as a closed shop.

01An incomplete listing loses customers

The business card shown in search results is where most users first meet your brand. A listing with no opening hours and no photographs raises doubt about whether the business is even trading. When users hesitate, they move to the next result.

02Category choice drives visibility

The primary category directly affects which searches you appear in. Choose the one that describes your work most narrowly and accurately, then add relevant secondary categories. A broad category feels like it will surface you in more searches but in practice leaves you prominent in none.

03Add photographs regularly

Listings with current photographs attract more attention and read as an active business. The exterior, the interior and shots of the work you do are enough. Photographs uploaded once a year stop reflecting reality.

04Always reply to reviews

Answered reviews show both the writer and every future reader that you are paying attention. Responding to a negative review with a solution rather than a defence is often more persuasive than a positive one.
